The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, replaced the 1994 CDM Regulations and came into force on 6th April 2007. Significant changes have been brought in under the act which places the burden of responsibility fairly and squarely on the client.

The client is now responsible for ensuring that suitable management arrangements are in place throughout the term of the project so that the works can be carried out safely and without risk to health.

The resulting changes now mean that the client is responsible for the appointment of the CDM Coordinator, a principal contractor, designers, the delivery of the pre-construction health and safety information and that the health and safety file is completed satisfactorily on completion of the project.

Refurbishment Programmes

Properties often become tired and outdated and need to be upgraded, or are acquired to meet specific requirements involving complete remodelling.

Experienced staff within our Building Consultancy can deliver a completed project from inception through to completion, undertaking the role of clients agent or/project managers.

The above roles will involve a close working relationship with our client to produce initial scheme designs, budget cost estimates, final scheme sign off, vetting of contractors, provision of tender information and adjudication on receipt of completed works schedules, implementation of contract documentation, overseeing the works on site, sign off and agreement of final accounts.

We are already involved with our clients on a diverse range of refurbishment projects within the retail, commercial, industrial and roadside sectors and we would be pleased to discuss any proposals that you are considering in the future.
